Album Cover Drafts

For my front album cover, the first thing that I done was to look around for the right location, I do live in the country side, which was a problem at first because I wanted to choose a destination which looked like I was in a city, as it would therefore have a more of an urban feel. This is important because most hip hop music videos have an urban feel, so it shows that they live in on the streets, and had a "tough" upbringing but have now "made it". So to solve this, I went to the graffiti wall, and used this destination. The bottom 2 photos are the ones that I had at first taken, this wall was also used as a destination in my music video.

At first I was going to use a graffiti wall as the background, however upon experimenting with different designs, I decided to use this background, which is the skyline of woods, with a moon appearing over the top, on an evening night. The reason I have used this background, is because most of the music produced by Randolph is about him being independent and on a journey, so I thought that this background resembled being alone and independent. I've got Randolph at the front, and I have made the decision to slightly animate him on the front because I think it makes the album cover more visually appealing, and it makes him look more 3D as it separates him from the background. I have positioned him to be  on the left hand side of the cover, this allows you to see the moon light to the right, I have done this because I want the moon light to resemble his "Goals in life" as it shows he hasn't reached his goals in life yet, which is what his songs are about. Also, if you look behind Randolph s left arm there is an eye appearing out, I decided to have this in the album cover to show that he is always aware of what is going on, despite him looking like he isn't paying attention, furthermore it also resembles that Randolph can be mysterious.
In the top right, I have his logo, which would be used on his merchandise, and any form of promotion for Randolph, which I have decided to have in white, so it matches the text, and it stands out against the darker background. The reason I have decided to use that font, is because it doesn't look formal, it has a relaxed feel to it, however it also looks professional, and once again in my opinion it is a visually appealing font. However upon receiving feedback, I am recommended to change the artist Randolph at the front, so that he is not blurred out.

I did experiment with this, however in my opinion, to have him not blurred out made it look as though he didn't belong on the front cover, so despite the feedback I received I am going to continue to have the artist blurred out on the front as I think it looks more suited to the colours behind him too.

After this, I decided to experiment more with the backgrounds for my album cover, so I know have a darker
